Resting Longhorns

This painting started out as a demo at an art league. It was almost completely finished during that demo, but caught a few more brush strokes after it came home. I never had a chance to offer the original to the public, because my ‘Longhorn’ daughter took it from my easel to her wall. It is a composite painting done from photos taken from the Flying D Ranch on Highway 1488 West. It was done on one of my drippy backgrounds full of color that I love to experiment with when things close in on me too much. This is how I break out of the predictable.
